Comprehensive glacier database with 101 entries covering area, length, type, and natural history.

Each glacier page lists the country, surface area, length and glacier type (valley, piedmont, tidewater, ice sheet and others), followed by notes on its history, retreat and importance as a water source. A few entries summarise whole regions such as the Alps or the Himalaya. Search by glacier name or country, or start from the largest ice masses on the home page. Areas and lengths change as glaciers retreat, so figures are approximate.
